We are very pleased to announce that after around six months of intensive training and going through company auditing, Afghanite Geo & Mining Engineering Services has been able to achieve three ISO (International Organization for Standardization) certifications:

1. ISO 17025: Laboratory Testing: Specifies the general requirements for the competence to carry out tests and/or calibrations, including sampling. It covers testing and calibration performed using standard methods, non-standard methods, and laboratory-developed methods. In most major countries, ISO/IEC 17025 is the standard for which most labs must hold accreditation in order to be deemed technically competent. In many cases, suppliers and regulatory authorities will not accept test or calibration results from a lab that is not accredited
2. ISO 9001: Quality Management System: specifies requirements for a quality management system where an organization

• needs to demonstrate its ability to consistently provide product that meets customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements, and
• aims to enhance customer satisfaction through the effective application of the system, including processes for continual improvement of the system and the assurance of conformity to customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.

3. ISO 14001: Environmental Management System: Addresses various aspects of environmental management. It provides practical tools for companies and organizations looking to identify and control their environmental impact and constantly improve their environmental performance

In order to pass these certifications, every member of Afghanite, Laboratory and office staff worked together to take an already existing set of quality systems to the next level.
